December 2023 brings two new categories of shapes to the Administratum Buildings of the Imperial Palace Line: round walls (including domes) and bridges to connect these new round buildings. This article is about the bridges in between and how to build them.
Like all wall pieces the December 2023 pack has the files labeled with L1 to L3+ describing the intended level for the part to be used in. Bridges can be built from L2 upwards, as a L1 Bridge will not allow for most models to pass under.
A simple bridge has two bridge heads and any number of bridge parts in between. All parts have the right dimensions to line up with other parts from the same range. Please see this picture for a regular open bridge build. This build will of course fit 25mm bases.
In case you’d like to build tall building and have several bridges on several levels, please add gates to the bridges and stack any number of level to your liking. The part IP-375 aligns with any L3+ levels.
All bridge parts are designed in a way that you can also create enclosed bridges using previous parts from the range. Included in the December 2023 pack are several parts ideal for those builds: IP-229, IP-235 and IP-243. An enclosed bridge can be built in any length and height you’d like. Here is an example on an enclosed bridge build.
Naturally, for gaming enclosed bridges are less relevant, but very beautiful. The full build would look like this:
When building open bridges, please also have a look at the bridge parts IP-3 and IP- . Thos two parts allow for “cross bridges” and “T junction bridges”.
